Clients, friends, and the community were invited. The gala event featured a ribbon cutting ceremony, presided over by Ogden Valley Business Association (OVBA) President Claire Beasley. Other local Wolf Creek Resort Sponsors Free Balloon Rides dignitaries attending included Dave Wadman, President of Wadman Corp., contractor for the construction of the new commercial complex. Owner Paul Judd stated that he would like to invite the community to stop by and visit the new facility located west of the Eden General Store. (Eden, Utah) In conjunction with the 2002 Eden Balloon Festival, Wolf Creek Resort offered free tethered balloon rides on Saturday, August 24. A good time was had by all, although several golfers jokingly blamed the balloon for their “less than par” shots! According to Steve Roberts, Managing Partner for Wolf Creek Properties, “While it’s clear that everyone in the community really enjoys this festival, very few people get to actually experience the elation and elevation that comes with the flight. We thought this was a great way to let some of our neighbors and their families experience this thrill first hand.” About 45 lucky families took advantage of the rides and, from the smiles on their faces, they definitely were thrilled. OGDEN - The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) announces the completion of the roadway rehabilitation project on Interstate 15 through the Ogden area. Crews have restored the road to its original two-lane configuration from 31st Street in Ogden, to 450 N. in Marriott-Slaterville. All freeway ramps in project limits are open as well. The repair project, which began July 8 and was to be completed in late September, finished one month ahead of schedule. “We would like to thank the people of the Ogden area for their support during the project which helped to significantly reduce its duration,” said UDOT Project Manager Charles Mace. “A project of this magnitude normally takes two construction seasons to complete, but due to an accelerated work schedule and the public’s cooperation, we were able to finish it in less than two months.” Offered incentives by UDOT for early project completion, Granite Construction Company, the project’s contractor, worked an extended schedule seven days a week. “The contractor’s determined efforts to complete the project early were very appreciated,” said UDOT Project Engineer Nick Peterson. The recently repaired three and a halfmile stretch of roadway, which was originally constructed in the late 1960’s, will benefit from the improvements. Safety enhancements, shoulder reconstruction, and much needed bridge repairs have all been accomplished. Additionally, completed shoulder reconstruction will help accommodate a complete reconstruction and widening of I-15 in the project limits within the next ten years.
