Cook, the American railroad conductor conduc-tor whose case utti acted so much attention at-tention a year ago, has beeu acquitted acquit-ted by Judge Raiuesv, of the charge of complicity In robbing freight cars on the main line of the Mexican Ceu-tral Ceu-tral Cook and bis crew had been arrest-) arrest-) ed because his train had been robbed j while en route near Guadalajara. His Mexican train crew were released on bnnils, but Cook was held in Jail so j long that merlcan railroadmen petitioned peti-tioned the secretary of state at ash-. ash-. lugio-.i to lnterv one and threatened reprisals on Mexicans in Ibis country unless Cook got bond. The Mexican judge, in the course of the trial, made a trip over tho railroad rail-road iu the role of the conductor while court employes assumed the role of the robbers.
