Greenwald, are preparing initiative ! petitions for legislation to establish the legality of limited round boxing contests throughout the state. In consequence, the ballot in the general election next November Is likely to bear two proposals relating to the boxing game one fathered by the church Interests to prohibit absolutely absolute-ly all professional ring contests; the other not only to preserve the pres-ont pres-ont status of the pugilists in California, Cali-fornia, but to extend their sphere within tho state Greenwald said today, however, it had not been decided yet whether the proposed boxing law would adapt the New York boxing commission idea to the California situation. The entire state will be districted bv the spoiling spoil-ing men and the campaign for signatures signa-tures prosecuted with the utmost vigor. The anti-boxing people already have their petitions in circulation. |
