The ladles of the Methodist church entertained about 20." friends of the Tlev Mr. and Mrs. MeCreery, In the church rarlors, 8 to 10 o'clock, on Mondaj' evening at a farewell party. Music furnished by the Misses Schilling, Spencer and Frey added entertainment during the hour of greeting. Social chat and Kind words filled the evening with but one break, at which time Mr. Walter Underwood was introduced by tho Ladles' Aid president, Mrs Frey. In a speech of reminiscence and tender words for the past three years service, and wishes for a pleasant future fu-ture pastorate-. Mr Underwood held his hearers In close sympathy. He then presented to the Rev. Mr. and Mrs. MeCreery two sets of handsome silver bread and butter spreaders, a gift from the many friends. Mr. MeCreery responded feelingly, and remarked ho needed "to laugh In order to suppress the tears, which were hard to control at euch times." The Rev. Elderfcln, a a representa-lie representa-lie of the Ministerial association and Betterment league, next spoke of the Rev. Mr McCreery's loyalty ln all walks of life and their pleasing relations rela-tions as co-workers. Tho entire company com-pany was then eerved with delicious sherbet and wafers, closing a memorable memor-able aud pleasant evening. ENTERTAINED. Vera Frey entertained twelve girl friends Friday afternoon, Aug. 12. ln honor of her cousin. Miss Lucile SchlUin, of ies Moines. Iowa Each girl came representing fomo peo-graphical peo-graphical name, showing originality and causing real thought to Interpret, A dalntj' luncheon was served, followed follow-ed by games and a general good time Those present were: Gladys Kre-mer, Kre-mer, Beatrice Young. Rosamond Laid, Laura RaYidall. Beatrice Plngree. Helen Hel-en Bichsel, Marguerite lying. Margaret Marga-ret Dills. Marguerite Slmms, Minnie Grooms, Mary Speucer and Luelle Schilling. Members of the Methodist church and all friends are requested to remember re-member Thursday afternoon, IRtn, as Indies' Aid day. In the church parlors par-lors 2:30 p. m. Rev. Carver and wife left this n-ornlng it 7 o'clock for Winona, where they will attend a blbte conference, confer-ence, an international jratherlng at Winona Lake. Indiana. They expect to return homo about September 20. Mrs. Minnie Hoi brook has just returned re-turned from u three weeks' visit to her auut In Oakland. Cal., Mrs. H. V. Blasdel.
