Show 00 INFLUENZA PREVENTIVE ' TO BE SENT FROM SALT LAKE According to Dr. Beatty of the State board of health a supply of vaccine will arrive in Salt Lake City at an early date for the preventive treatment of influenza,. It is understood that lhiJ vaccine will be distributed throughout the entire state. Dr Beatty of tho state board of health announced yesterday that a supply of Rosenau vaccine, to bo used as a proventive against Spanish influenza, influ-enza, would arrive soon in the city from Boston. Ho stated that the vaccine vac-cine is the only one authorized by the Boston Influcfhza vaccine commission and the medical authorities of Illinois. "The vaccine should be used by everybody as a preventive measure" said Dr. "Beatty last night. "It is given I in three treatments, with intervals ofj several days between each treatment. It renders the subject absolutely' immune im-mune from influenza. It will be administered admin-istered free, as far as is possible. Tho reason wc have not ordered a quantity before is that it was not to be had, on account of the previous orders of eastern east-ern states afflicted with influenza before be-fore It became epidemic in Utah. "Tho formula is no secret, and I have asked for it in order that arrangements ar-rangements may be made to manufacture manufac-ture large quantities of the vaccine at the University of Utah laboratory. Dr. Rosenau is now in Chicago helping in' the production of the vaccine there' III No answer was received by Dr. Ilji Beatty to the telegram which he sent W Thursday night to Surgeon General jC-Ruport jC-Ruport Blue, asking that twelve nurses V be sent to Utah at once to aid in com j h bating the spread of the epidemic.
