Show USAC Elections Are Challenged A challenge to the constitutionality constitution-ality of Utah State Agricultural college student elections was hurled hurl-ed at the USAC student council Thursday by "a student" through the columns of the weekly newspaper, news-paper, "Student Life". The student, whose name was withheld from publication but whom Editor Harry Bonnell, Logan, Lo-gan, said had authorized permission permis-sion to use it if deemed necessary, charged specifically that the council coun-cil had deviated from the constitutional con-stitutional way of conducting student stu-dent elections. j He pointed out that the constitution con-stitution provides for a nominat-I nominat-I ing assembly which, he said was never held, and then a week of I campaigning between primary and j final elections. Dan Ludlow, Spanish Fork, student stu-dent body president during the past year and Lloyd Meacham, Lo-i Lo-i gan, are candidates for the top I position, while Katherine Jenkins, Susar Citv. Ida., and Afton Bitton, Swan Lake, Ida., seek to become student body vice president. Char-lene Char-lene Petterson Garland, and Barbara Bar-bara Jean Forrest, Brigham City, are secrets ry candidates. |
