Proposed revisions could force KCC to build another plant More than 20 percent of the state's industry would be in violation of Utahs air emission standards should revisions of the present law be approved at a forthcoming public hearing. Kenn Green Artist MOUNTAIN BELL God has been an important part of my life since I was 16 - most of that time I didnt fully understand how or why but I thank Him for being there. Three summers ago my family and I took a trip to Oregon to visit friends. During the time we had known them while they were living in Salt Lake they rarely engaged in conversation without criticizing each other. But the change that had come over them was a miracle. In the three days all they spoke about were the wonderful things that had happened in their lives through what the Lord had done for them. My wife and I discussed our friends new life all the way back to Salt Lake. The night we arrived home my thoughts crystal ized as we relaxed In the bedroom. Then I experienced a new awareness of Christ and how little my life meant without Him. There was no other way to live, it seemed almost common sense. For the first time in 24 years the scriptures were speaking to my needs in every part of my life. have seen and been part of many healings of relationships - for I believe I Jesus asks us to take care of one another. To do this we must touch each other's joy and sadness -caring for each other's needs and situations, each other's spiritual walks. In the words of a friend, "God is - God Loves - God cares. As Christians we need to know who and what God is. We need to love love with a God-lik- e and we must care for each other as Jesus cares for us. Keith Taylor of Kennecott Copper Corp. voiced dissent when the commission approved a clause concerning sulfur emissions. Nineteen drill rigs owned by a total of nine companies are involved in uranium exploration in Utah. According to Carlton Stowe, Utah Department of Natural Resources, San Juan County primarily leads in the number of prospects being explored, followed closely by Grand County. Stowe reports the companies working in Utah are Anschutz Corporation, the Cotter Corporation, Energy Fuels Ltd., Gospel Businessmen's Fellowship International The revised regulation would force Kennecott to construct another acid plant to achieve adequate desulfurization at the site. Energy Resources Company, Gulf Minerals, Homestake Mining, TVA Corporation, Minerals Exploration and Exxon. While no recent tabulations are available from the Bureau of Mines, the agency which maintains such figures, Stowe said Utah officially produced more than $12 million worth of uranium in 1973.
