Fruit growers may be forced to pick the fruit before it's ripe because the trees cannot sustain the fruit without damage, Hamilton added. He noted a fruit producing program takes nine years to develop. The water shortage will affect each irrigation district Hamilton exdifferently, The Utah Lake plained.
