Show A Thing of the Past. Election day is not far off iYP.Ci it is most gratifying to the citizens of Mount Pleasant to see the attitude in which the politicals are behaving themselves them-selves in the coming campaign. It is a local affair and each party par-ty will put into the field next Saturday evening the men whom they believe will serve the city best. The time has come when the -people of Mt. Pleasant have ceased the baser methods of po- litical warfare and have burried them beneath the sod. They look upon one another as comrades com-rades in the same community with an eye single to one glory building a Bigger and Better Mt. Pleasant. Methods in securing votes by hauling individuals to the polls on election day should be considered con-sidered a thing of the past. Any person who is entitled to cast his vote as an American citizen should have enough pride in the welfare of his town to go to the polls on election day and vote for the men that will do the city the most good. Every good citizen should help his town by selecting good men to do their work. The candidates who will be placed before the people on election day for the citizens to decide upon and determine who shall serve them during the next two years will be nominated nomin-ated next Saturday evening. The Republicans will meet at the Opera House and the Democrats Dem-ocrats will meet at the City Hall. In these Primaries are the places for the people to come and do their bidding. If anyone has any interest whatsoever what-soever he should be in attendance attend-ance at either one place or the other on Saturday night, Oct. 18th. The present administration is composed of Republicans and Democrats and much credit is due them for the excellent work which they have done for the past two years. During their administration they have looked forward into the blue of the distance with a desire to build up Mount Pleasant and make of it a most desirable city in which to live. |
