Truitt FOUNTAIN GREEN-- - The Lions Club dinner meeting held Nov. 17, to honor veterans of foreign wars was successful although the turn out was sparsely attended. Brian Schulze, presided over the meeting, yielding time to Gordon Johnson, president, who then conducted regular business. v This included a call to replace the flag at the fire department, a vote to fill 250 bags of Christmas candy for the citys party, a new drive that could membership result in a Hawaii trip for one member, if the club could double membership. vice-preside- district Rex Christensen, governor of 28T, and his wife JoAnn, Salina, also attended the meeting. The keynote speaker was Emerson Cook, a retired Sergeant from the Army Air Corp from World War II, and Jake Jacobson, Navy Senior Chief Petty Officer, who fought in the Gulf War. Both speakers spoke on what is meant to be a veteran. . Other activities included a flag MT. PLEASAN- T- On Wednesday, Dec. 1, at 6 p.m., a treat night social with program is planned.
