Show taxes face could owners higher Property by Bruce Jennings MANTI-- - A State Tax Com- mission order received last week by the Sanpete County Assessors Office means that county property owners could face higher tax bills next year. The order requires county assessor Steve Kjar to factor area residential Ephraim-Man- ti property up by as much as 28 percent. Although the Sanpete County tax rate is staying the same in 1995, this could mean a hefty boost in the tax load for some area homeowners. Weather news h MT. Fire damages trailer MORON- I- The Moroni Fire Department responded to a call at about 10:30 a.m., Dec. 7, at a single-wid- e trailer between Moroni and Chester. Extensive fire and water damage was done to ceilings in the living room, bathroom and a bedroom which resulted from an improperly installed flue on a woodbuming stove. They were unable to call for help because they had no phone, and identity of the person who did call it m is unknown. Jensen said that the occupants had basically saved the dwelling from burning up, but the man was quite overcome by smoke.
