Show FAIRVIEW ! By Special Correspondence Wedding reception Given Mr. and Mrs. Monta Nordstrom announce the marriage of their daughter, Miss Elnore Nordstrom to Corporal Newell Shepherd, son of Mr. and Mrs. Warren Shepherd of Mt. Pleasant. They were married mar-ried Tuesday, July 14th in the Manti Temple by President L. R. Anderson. Mr. Shepherd has been stationed sta-tioned at Fort Lewis, Washington Washing-ton and will return there with his bride. A wedding reception was held in the Fairview South ward chapel chap-el Wednesday evening. About 125 guests were present.. The evening eve-ning was spent in dancing and a program was given which was followed by lovely refreshments being served. Mr. and Mrs. George Brown, and Mr. and Mrs. Hugo Mower of Magna, Utah were Fairview visitors last week. The bridge club was held at the home of Mrs. Valeria Cheney Wednesday evening and the prizes went to Mrs. Laura Vance, Mrs. Madora Hansen and Mrs. Louise Stewart. Mrs. Ross Vance went to Salt Lake City this week to undergo a number of operations at the L D S hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Cleston Mower are the proud parents of a baby boy born Sunday, July 11th. Both mother and son are doing nicely. nice-ly. Mrs. Mable Williams of Long Beach, California is visiting in Fairview with friends and relatives. rela-tives. Mr. and Mrs. Rueben White of Clear Creek, Utah were visitors of Fairview last week end. Chief Petty Officer Welby Tur-pin Tur-pin and Mrs. Turpin of Salt Lake City were visitors of friends and relatives in Fairview last week. Mrs. Julia Turpin of Fairview has returned home after a visit in California. Mrs. Martha Bills, who has been visiting in Provo has returned re-turned home. Mr. Wayne Stewart of the U-nited U-nited States Navy is visiting with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Francillo Stewart on a short furlough. fur-lough. Staff Sergeant Glen Brady of the United .States Navy is home on a short furlough. He is the so n of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Brady and has been stationed at Sioux City, Iowa. Mr. Leonard Mower of the U. S. Army is home on a short furlough fur-lough visiting with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Orson Mower. He has been stationed at Camp Koh-ler, Koh-ler, Sacramento, California. Mr. Garn Stewart has been home on a short furlough from the U. S. Army. He is visiting with relatives and friends at Fairview. Mrs. Hyrum Hansen entertained entertain-ed at a quilting at her home last Wednesday afternoon. A lovely dinner was served to many of her lady friends. Richard (Dick) Graham, son of Mr. and Mrs. John R. Graham of Fairview, has Deen promoted to the rank of Second Lieutenant in the Army Air corps. He is located lo-cated somewhere in the Pacific area. Lieut. Graham is a graduate of North Sanpete high school. He attended Brigham Young University Uni-versity at Provo ana studied art in Los Angeles, California. Prior to entering the service in September, Sep-tember, 1941, he was employed in the advertising department of Hart-Schaffer & Marx Clothing Company in Los Angeles, Calif. A brother, Lieut, (j. g.) Ellis R. Graham recently was assigned to the Naval Air Station at Grosse lie, Michigan for a course in advanced navigation. |
