During the time she played vital roles in running the bank, Rasmuson also served two terms on the Ephraim Library Board, two terms on the Ephraim City Planning and Zoning Committee, and a term on the Central Utah Arts Foundation Board of Directors. During these professional and careers, she was also a wife, mother, and now a grandmother. She was hired to be a teller and secretary to President Roger Armstrong and subsequently served with five more bank presidents. She retires as Vice President. When Rasmuson came to the Bank in July of 1950, nearly all functions that now are automated were done by hand. "We hand-file- d the checks at the end of each day and posted all transactions by hand, said Rasmuson. "When I came and for some time after, we prepared all of the bank statements on the last day of the month and had them ready to hand to the patrons the next business day. We didnt mail statements in those days; people just expected to come in the bank and pick them up," she related. While the turkey industry has been a constantly strong element in the economic base of the county all during Rasmuson s tenure, the trailer manufacturing plant that provided many jobs, has gone. Likewise, the sheep industry was very strong in 1950 but has dwindled somewhat. "I always enjoyed hearing the sheepmen talk about the price they got for wool in the spring and what they sold their lambs for in the fall," she said. "I have loved working for the bank and with all of the employees, but I have loved most of all working for the bank patrons among whom I have many lifelong friends. Just today, a customer from Emery County come into the bank who has done business with us since before I came. What a delight! I have loved being able to assist members of our communities solve financial problems and capitalize on financial opportunities using bank services," Rasmuson said.
