Monday December 15 there was a wonderful Art Program at the Library! We saw beautiful slides and heard music and a very magnificent teresting discussion on paintings from the National Gallery of Art These from the Renaissance were paintings period all depicting the birth of the Savior the events leading up to it and the flight into Egypt Only two families availed themselves of the opportunity to enjoy this lovely by Mr Doug presented program Jolley art teacher at Millard High School This was the first of a group of programs open to the public from the National Gallery The time and place will be the same for the room at the Library 7:30 pm the second Monday of each month through May 1987 There is no charge The programs will last approximately minutes The setting is comfortable the price is right and the program is Don't miss out on the next beautiful one Put it on your calendar now! Cancer Books The East Millard Cancer organization presented the library with a file of books on one of the subjects we need material to keep up on The on Cancer will be helpful for all of us including students writing reports on the subject One large hardback book and several pamphlets were presented by Mrs Margaret Stevens and Mrs Elva Richman to Mrs Hunter on Thursday December 18 at the library The library appreciates this generous gift Who’s Santa Last Wednesday when dropped in Norma Gagon Ph ed down to listen to a music filled half hour of lovely Christmas songs sung by 16 of their ladies dressed in blue satin gowns with white lace collars and bows They certainly put a festive climax to an evening of joy and song A list is out for anyone to sign to have a New Year's Eve party If no more than 20 people sign there will not be a party but instead a bus load will go to the Delta Senior Citizen New Year’s Eve dance means memberDon’t forget Jan ship dues should be payed for 1987 Only $200 a person these dues help maintain the Center and are needed Pahvant Valley Center Senior Citizens held their December birthday pot luck and Christmas party Friday Dec 12 Forty people came with gaily wrapped Christmas gifts that were laid under the beautiful tree donated by Rosie Robison’s husband Director Gary After everyone had their fill of the bounteous feast the birthday people were honored by gifts and a song Next on the agenda was an election of three new advisory council members The newly elected are Elaine Goddard and Dean Mallet and alternate member Bill Outgoing members having Higgins served their three years are LeGrande Davies Myrtle Rowley Roy Olpin Merle Hone and Max Nichols as rival of the Blue Notes everyone bookeeper While awaiting the arrival of the Blue Notes a singing group from Delta the Christmas presents were passed around to everyone Upon ar- - Baby for Utah’s driver license and ID card to do a little extra work at the library there was a beautiful Christmas Tree on the front porch We have no idea who brought it to us but it has a Dixie National Forest tag Mr Dwight Huntsman board member came down and put it up for us Thanks to the unknown Santa and thanks to Dwight It is very nice to have a beautiful tree in the library Closing Days We are closing the library December We plan to have a 26 and January 24 and short day on December at 5 both of those December 31 we do not expect much business on the “eves" See you in the library The Utah Driver License Division has announced that on December 17 1986 a new style of driver license and identification card will be issued This new license will be color coded and have a special security laminate to protect vital information from destruction and alteration Holders of valid driver licenses or ID cards will not be affected until time of renewal The traditional renewal process will not change & OIL Without the snow it’s hard for me to believe Christmas finally made it! Salt with Lori and Lake She with Ferris attendmy son David and his family ed a school Christmas program of my some family Ryan grandson and a drive up through the don’t think City to enjoy the lights there is a lovelier sight anywhere than Temple Square at this time of year Some earlier happenings were: Lloyd and Marie Payne spending Thanksgiving in Visiala CA with their son Sam and wife Alice It was Sam’s 40th birthday as well as Thanksgiving so a double celebration was held The Paynes were gone nine days On the 14th of December their son Rex and wife Kathleen and family came for one citing day There were eight in all and they went up to Maple Springs for a picnic (imagine that in December!) and a hike around the area They were delighted to see about 100 head of deer in different groups even a darling pair of twin fawns It was a great deal to cram into one day but a lot of fun Our Valate Grecnhalgh is back in town again for a short stay She went to West Jordan to spend Thanksgiving Staff and Administrators but after the work time for some fun at Disney World etc was glad to be involved in the Christmas party for the patients at the Fillmore Hospital The Pink Ladies give this dinner and party each year and it’s always a happy occasion We served around fifty people including grand and great grandchildren of the patients We had a lovely program and Santa even made a visit
