Ann Marie Callister, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Rulon Callister, was confirmed a member of the church by her father Sunday. Her brother, Robert baptized her Saturday evening. even-ing. Miss Judy Callister was home over the weekend with her folks, Mr. and Mrs. Rulon Callister and attended graduation exercises for her brother Robert. Mr. and Mrs. Boy McDaniel and son William of Alamosa, Colo., parents par-ents of Janice Moody and her sister, sis-ter, Mr. and Mrs. Winslow Christen-sen Christen-sen of Pleasant Grove were here Sunday with David and Janice. They all attended the temple marriage of Janice's brother Earl at Manti Saturday. Janice's mother is staying here for about two weeks. Mr. and Mrs. Kendell Brinkerhoff had as their guests over the weekend,. week-end,. Marilyn's mother, Mrs. Audrey Beall and , a friend, Floyd Cooper of Tempe, Arizona. Mrs. Bessie Judd had some of her children home over the weekend: week-end: Mrs. Jean Andrus and daughter daugh-ter Janet of Boise, Idaho, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Wellington and daughters dau-ghters Mary Kay, Jane and Barbara Bar-bara of Orem, Mr. and Mrs. David Judd and children Paul and Julie of Bountiful and Mr. and Mrs. Dick Judd and family of Sutherland. Mrs. Donna Whiteley and son Danny of TucSon.'Ariz. were in Delta Del-ta last Wednesday, as was her dau ghter Marie. They went to Salt Lake to visit with her mother, Mrs. Margaret Edwards. Marie will be returning to Tucson for the sum-men sum-men Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hansen and Ruth took . their grandson Ralph McCall to Provo Friday, May 28 where they met Margaret and attended at-tended the "Y" graduation exercises exer-cises as their son Chris Hansen received re-ceived his B. S. Degree. Ruth, Chris and Dorothy returned to Delta . where they visited with Dorothy's folks, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Rich-ard Morrison. Margaret took her folks Henry and Adrian and Ralph McCall on to Denver, Colo, where they visited with their daughter and family George and Carol Hatch for three days. Mr. and Mrs. Leon Dalley and children spent last Saturday at Summit and Cedar City. Margaret's mother, Mrs. Berniece Nichols accompanied ac-companied them. I took off last Friday for Salt Lake and spent the night with my son Boyd and Wife Ethel. My daughter daug-hter Colleen and children Carol Lynn, Renee and Richard Waren-ski Waren-ski came back to Delta with Boyd, Ethel and I Saturday. Colleen will visit hete a week with hex father, Albert Kimber. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Lloyd of Draper Dra-per and their daughter, Mr. and Mrs. LaMont Smith of Salt Lake called in to see their brother, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Kimber Sunday. They also attended the party of sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. George Sampson. While I was in Salt Lake I had the chance to chat a few minutes with Mrs. Deana Clements Gardner. Gard-ner. She has a new baby and is planning to move to Nevada. It was nice to see her. Norman and Faye Sjostrum of Salt Lake were house guests over the weekend of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Corry. Dr. and Mrs. Harold Snow and family of Sacramento, Calif, spent the weekend with his mother, Mrs. Violet Snow. They took her to Salt Lake and Logan Saturday and Sun day. Mrs. Nellie Workman of Salt Lake will be here in Delta for the next two or three weeks with her daughter LaViha Bunker. Val Bunker Bun-ker is now home for the summer with his folks, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Law-rence Bunker. He will be working with his father. Miss Sandra Moore left last week for Las Vegas where she j)lans to spend much of the summer with her sister, Deon. Mr. and Mrs. Norman Gardner returned re-turned Monday from a trip to New York City. They went to the World's Fair and visited many places of interest including Radio City Music Hall and some TV shows. They went to Washington, D. C. and Sharon Steele showed them around the city. They went to Windsoi, Ontario, Canada and on the way home visited Mr. and Mrs. Grady Merriman (Mrs. Merriman is a sister sis-ter of Norman's). They were accompanied ac-companied by Mr. and Mrs. Ray Gardner of Sandy and Mr. and Mrs. Paul Ball of Gunnison. Pall remained remain-ed in New York to visit his mother, three brothers and three sisters. Mr. and Mrs. Jess Lee had some house guests over the weekend: Nina's brother, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Adamson of Salt Lake, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Kesler and daughters Mrs. Ethel Anderson and Annie Clark all of Tooele and Jess's nephew ne-phew Harold Griffiths and two sons of Las Vegas. Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Bushnell and two daughters of Salt Lake visited over the weekend with their mother, Mrs. Marie Taylor and brother bro-ther Follet Taylor. Mr. and Mrs. Lee Wankier and family spent Sunday afternoon at Nephi with Kathleen's folks, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Warner. Mrs. Lois Waddingham, mother of Thorpe Waddingham of Salt Lake and Mrs. Vertis Nielson of Ephraim, sister of Norma's, were here over the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Waddingham and attended attend-ed the graduation exercises for Brent. Mrs. Abbie Prestwich had 25 members of her family with her over the weekend: Bishop and Mrs. Calvin Prestwich and family of Ruth, Nevada, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Clar-ence Prestwich and family of Randolph, Ran-dolph, Mr. and Mrs. Grady McEvoy and family of Dugway, Darrel and James Tureson of Logan, Mrs. Char lotte Ross and daughter Joy of Salt Lake and Zolet of Tooele. Mr. and Mrs. Garth Tolbert and children and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Jamison and son Kent of Salt Lake spent the weekend with their mother, mo-ther, Mrs. Nell Watson. They all had dinner at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Barney on Memorial Day. Mr. and Mrs. Win S. Bassett and Louise M. Lyman spent Decoration Day in Logan visiting friends and relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Whicker, Connie and Neil all went to Kamas over the weekend. They visited with Loretta's father, Mr." Tom Mc-' Neil and her sisters Mrs. Virginia Brown and Mrs. Almeda McAffee. Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Smith and son Douglas returned to Delta after a two week vacation in Mexico. In Mexico City the things -of interest they saw were the Palace of Fine Arts, University City, the Floating Gardens, the Shrine of Guadalupe, the world's largest bull ring, the Anthropology Muesum and the Pyramids. From there they traveled to Tax-co, Tax-co, a silver mining city where they saw beautiful silver jewelry and dishes being made. A 300-mile trip across the mountains gave them the opportunity to study the customs cus-toms of the native people. Before returning home they spent several days at Acapulco boating and swimming and saw the pearl divers dive from a height of 135 feet into the ocean. Ellen Smith made the trip with the family but she- stayed in Phoenix Phoe-nix to finish up her school year before be-fore returning to Delta for the summer. sum-mer. Mr. and Mrs. Dick Clark made a trip to Salt Lake Thursday for a doctor's appointment for each, also met the plane and Mrs. Duna-way Duna-way and Mrs. Harrison of Arkansas Arkan-sas came home with them for a visit for a while. A surprise birthday party was given gi-ven for June Losee Saturday nite by her relatives: Mr. and Mrs. Devon De-von Memmott and family, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Adams and family, Mr. and Mrs. Carroll Hansen and family, fam-ily, Mr. and Mrs. Alden Shurtz and family and Mrs. Lillie Memmott. They stayed over night and attend ed church. . Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Losee of Sait Lake visited with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Glen Losee and family. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Slaughter from Las Vegas visited during the week with their brother, Isaac Losee and family. Kent Kimber had two friends call to see him: Chick Webster of Tooele Too-ele on Sunday and Eldon Crawford of Enterprise on Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Miller spent Sunday at Dugway with their niece Mr. and Mrs. Bert Ogden. They spent Monday at Grantsville and Tooele with their many friends and relatives. We are sorry to hear the Arch Poulsens- have sold their" farm, we hear to an Illinois family and have bought the Louis Ashby home in Delta. We are sorry to lose them from our community, but wish them joy in their new home which isn't too. far. The five boys helped during the holiday to make a good home for them. Karl Jeffery, Eldon, Dave, Don, and Jim Poulsen and families also visited while they worked. Shirlee Shields and family have gone for a ten day visit with LeAur in the Blanding area. They left Wednesday. We were proud of our boys and girl graduates Friday night. It was very lovely and 'outstanding. We congratulate them. Called on Mr. and Mrs. George Sampson Sunday at their home for their 50 years of wedded life together. to-gether. Fifty years is a long time and we give them hearty congratulations congrat-ulations and good health. Their children were ail home but Delma and she couldn't come. These children child-ren are the reward we get and how rich they are. Mr. and Mrs. Curt Shields made a trip to Tooele for Memorial bay. They also met Mr. and Mrs. Jim Boyle and Mr. and Mrs. Bus Shields and family of Salt Lake. Jim is feeling quite well at present. Mrs. Rosetta Pratt Young of Ogden Og-den is here visiting friends and relatives, re-latives, the Clifferd Petersens and her niece, Mrs. Rae Petersen. Mrs. Colona P. Bennett and daughter dau-ghter took Erma Petersen to Wells Nevada to visit Erma's son, Merrill and wife Bonnie and baby this week. They also went to Elko to visit the Johnnie and Helen Hessel-gesser Hessel-gesser family. It's been a very busy week-graduation week-graduation and all. Our town had four girls graduate this year. They were Wanda Lee Tolbert, Jill Johnson; John-son; Helen Marie Stoneking Thayer and Geniel Fullmer. I feel that they have accomplished a lot by getting their high school diplomas and I wish them to accept my hearty congratulations. It was indeed a lovely affair the wedding of Miss Sandra Taylor and Mr. Scott Rasmussen of Vernal in the Sutherland Church Saturday night. A large crowd attended and DESERET Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Dorton of i Salt Lake visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lincoln Cropper. Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Mrs. Myrle Bennett received word on May 25 that a baby boy was born to Mr. and Mrs. Burton Ca-hoon Ca-hoon of Tooele. Burton is Mrs. Bennett's Ben-nett's grandson. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Webb attended attend-ed graduation exercises at Milford. Their grandson Mike Taylor was one of the graduates. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Dewsnup and Winona Dutson attended graduation gradua-tion exercises at Millard High Friday Fri-day evening. Rhea Mace was one of the graduating class. There was a large number ot Deseret people who were among the many fishermen who were on the streams arly Saturday morning. Parnell Hinckley of Salt Lake spent several days in Deseret visiting visit-ing with his daughter and family, Lincoln and Cleo Eliason. Fern Crafts, who has employment in Salt Lake was home over the weekend to attend her son Terry's graduation from high school. The Arch Poulsens have sold their home and farm in Sugarville and will soon move to Delta. Mr. and Mrs. Charles (Joan) Sledge came down from Salt Lake for the opening of fishing season. They fished with parents, Karl and Eleanor Murray in Oak City Canyon. Can-yon. Joan got her limit early. Chester Corbett and Ronald Thomas fished in Leamington Canyon. Can-yon. Haven't heard if they had any luck. Mrs. Dorothy Shields and baby Kelli of Salt Lake were here over the weekend to attend Sandy's wedding Saturday night. Clark and Reva Bliss and Boo and Sebrina Robison visited Reva's folk's raves in Monroe Sunday and drove to Torrey and met LaVoy Tolbert in his new cafe there, then visited Loa and other towns down that way. That Is where Reva's childhood was spent before moving to Hinckley. They ate lunch at La-Voy's La-Voy's cafe. ARPRILLA SCOW Sandy. Mr. and Mrs. Lincoln Cropper were visitors in Sait Lake last Sun day and Monday and came home sporting a new Cadilac. Mr. and Mrs. Verdon Davis had their grandchildren, the Workmans-of Workmans-of Salt Lake and the Jensens from Cedar City to stay with them while their parents went fishing. Mr. and Mrs. Kent Dewsnup and children Russell and DeeAnn from Coalville spent the Memorial Day weekend at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Milden Scow and Mr. and Mrs Henry Dewsnup. Miss Carolyn Christensen and Mr. and Mrs. Sheldon Christensen and children of Salt Lake were at the home of their mother, Edna Christensen Chris-tensen for Memorial Day. Visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Randell Cahoon for the weekend week-end was Sam and Bonnie Bringard and children of Las Vegas. Mr. and Mrs. Marlow Cropper and children left Monday for Las Vegas where they will be for the next few weeks as Marlow has employment employ-ment there. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Torrens, Jr. and children of Salt Lake spent the weekend at the home of Mr. and Mis. Robert Torrens, Sr. The program at Sacrament meeting meet-ing Sunday evening was put on by the F. M. Western family. Members of the family who were here to help with the program were Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Western, Mr. and Mrs. Grant Western, Mr. and Mrs. Faye Jacobson, Mr. and Mrs. Max Robison and Mr. and Mrs. LaVoy Robison. Mr. and Mrs. Matt Cropper spent Sunday at Panguitch at the home of Mrs. Wanda Davis. We really appreciated the Amer ican Legion for the Memorial Day Services that were put on at the Deseret Cemetery. The speakr of the day was Bishop Ward Killpack.
