Show Final Tribute Is , Paid to Editor Of the Chronicle Funeral services for Frank A. Beckwith, 74, editor of the Millard County Chronicle for 31 years, were held Friday afternoon in the old Delta First ward chapel. Mr. Beckwith died Monday, June 11, in the Fillmore hospital, where he had been a patient three days with a heart ailment. The services were conducted by Tintic Lodge No. 9 , Free and Accepted Ac-cepted Masons, N. E. Ward, Wor-ship'ful Wor-ship'ful Grand Master. Mr. Beckwith Beck-with had been a member of the Masonic order since 1902, in Ev-anston, Ev-anston, Wyo., his birthplace. At the time of his death he carried a dual membership in Wasatch Lodge No. 1, Salt Lake City, and Tintic Lodge, No. 9, Eureka. Speakers at the services were William S. Bassett and Dudley D. Crafts, whose friendship with Mr. Beckwith dated from his earliest years in the community. They paid tribute to him as one whose interest inter-est and unselfish service in the best interests of his community will long be remembered and bear fruit in years to come. Prelude and postlude organ music mus-ic was played by Mrs. Norma Wright, who also played an organ solo, "Ava Maria", by Gounod. Masonic rites were conducted at graveside, and at their conclusion the grave was dedicated by June W. Black, president, Deseret Stake. Burial was under the direction of L. N. Nickle and sons mortuary. |
