Show Hold Services For Mrs. Vilkins At Hinckley Mrs. Alta Webb Wilkins died at her home in Hinckley Wednesday afternoon, July 27, of a lingering illness. She was 54 years old, born Dec. 24, 1894, at Hinckley, a daugh ter of Simon and Harriet Anne Welch Webb. Her early life was lived in Hinck ley. Her mother died when she was a young girl, and she cared for the family until her marriage to Horace Franklin (Frank) Wilkins, Wil-kins, July 9, 1917. in Salt Lake. The couple lived in Idaho and Montana after their marriage until un-til 1928, when they came to Hinck ley. After 4 years, they returned to Idaho. In 1941 they moved back to Hinckley, and made their home since. Mrs. Wilkins was an active mem ber of the LDS church. Surviving are her husband, and two sons, Horace Wilkins, of Hinck ley; and Harold E. Wilkins, of Norwalk, Cal., and one daughter, daugh-ter, Mrs. Helen Olson, of Garrison. Also surviving are four grandchildren grandchild-ren and ' two brothers and three sisters, Mrs. D. S. Jenning, of Logan, Log-an, and Le Roy Webb, Leslie Webb Mrs. Maud McDonald and Mrs. Lilian Lil-ian Taylor, all of Hinckley. Funeral services were held Saturday Sat-urday in the Hinckley ward chapel Cecil Bishop of the Hinckley Bishopric conducted the services which consisted of: Erma Cropper singing "Lay My Head Beneath the Rose"; prayer offered by Patriarch C. R. Woodbury; Wood-bury; speeches by President Harold Har-old R. Morris, L. R. Cropper and Don Bishop, who praised Mrs. Wilkins Wil-kins for her pleasant dispostion and good nature, and who urged her bereaved husband to find solace sol-ace in keeping the commandments of the Lord, and find companionship companion-ship in others through attendance and participation in the work of the Lord, thus keeping his life from becoming lonely; a mixed quartet, consisting of Julia Bliss, Bertha Love, Blaine Spendlove, and Cluff Talbot sang "Lead Me Gently Home" and Ros Hilton ren dered a solo "The End of a Perfect Per-fect Day". Closing prayer was offered by Leonard Palmer, and the grave was dedicated by Bishop Walter Ekins, under the direction of the L. N. Nickle Mortuary. |
