Why, who doesn't know that school is continuing for two more weeks? Every student in Milford high wore a broad, happy smile when Mr. Beecher announced that we would have school for two weeks more. Two weeks of school means a big and better graduation. Every student stu-dent gets his credits and we have two good hard weeks of work. In these two weeks we intend to show our dee pest respect for the teachers who have given their time. We realize that we get out of our work just what we put into it. We're going to roup a big harvest. GirlH Present Assembly One of our assemblies for last week was given by Adele Kinney, Ethel Tnnner, and Luella Bird. They presented pre-sented as their first number, a short skit entitled "An Old Maid's Secret.'' Venita Smith favored us with a saxophone saxo-phone selection; Janet Rollins read, "Ma and the Auto," and Emma Patterson Pat-terson sang "Satisfied." Everyone enjoyed the program. Luncheons Featured The girls of the Eighth Grade Foods class have been agreeably employed em-ployed this week on luncheon projects. pro-jects. They are being instructed in the ways of preparing and serving a luncheon. Your humble scribe was surprised to see the well appointed luncheon table that they had prepared. prepar-ed. We feel that such instruction is very helpful to these young girls, for such projects are very practical. Senior Hop The senior class gave a very splendid splen-did senior hop at the high school gymnasium last Friday evening. There were no decorations, but the merriment more than atoned for the lack of ornamentation. The music was furnished by that very fine group, the Milford orchestra. orches-tra. One of the leading features of the affair was the great number of beautiful beau-tiful dresses worn by our coeds. The room was alight with greens, purples, pinks, reds, and other colors. Dresses Dress-es were made of taffeta, satin, lace and other dainty materials. In fact the hop was in very deed a spring fashion show. Space will not permit a more detailed de-tailed rehearsal. Suffice it to say, a lovely time was enjoyed by all. High School Election ! On Friday, April 22 elections for the student body officers for next year were held at school. After several sev-eral days of lively campaigning, the students established voting polls in two rooms and the voting was carried on in the perscribed form of secret ballot. The results of the election were very pleasing, and the student body is to be complimented on its choice. Bob Kesler is to be our student president pre-sident of next year. His assistants are: Helen Parsons, vice president; Roseabell Jones, secretary; and Mel Heslington, treasurer. We congratulate these people on being chosen and wish them great success in their undertaking next vear. I |
