Show ASA THOMPSON PASSES AWAY IN ST. GEORGE Funeral services for Asa Dillman Thompson, 86, who died in St. George Monday at 5:10 p. m. at the home of a son, Claude M. Thompson, Thomp-son, of causes incident to age, were conducted Wednesday at 2 p. m. in St. George South ward chapel Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Latter-day Saints, by Glenn L, Leavitt, bishop. Mr. Thompson was born in Onowa, Iowa, February 14, 1860, a son of John Wesley and Ruth Amelia Davis Thompson. His early life was spent in Iowa and Nebraska. Nebras-ka. In 1879 he married Jennie Smith. He came to Green River, Emery county, in 1883, where he worked for the railroad. In 1903 he moved to Milford and engaged in mining. Nine months ago he moved to St. George, where he had been residing resid-ing with his son. Survivors include his son, six grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Asa Dillman Thompson was well known and liked in Milford. Owning Own-ing considerable real estate and residential property here, he resided re-sided in a little cabin on the east side of the Union Pacific tracks. He was always pleasant, with a smile for his friends and a courtly bow for the ladies he met In his walks about town. He was unusually unusu-ally active for a person of his advanced ad-vanced years, and apparently enjoyed en-joyed excellent health when he moved to St. George a few months ago. s J ' . |
