He jumped the gun and beat us on announcing our own consolidation. consoli-dation. We planned t o announce an-nounce it last week, but with the usual Christmas edition rush we put it off a week, and Cannon beat us to it. Then he published excerpts from a National Safety Council round-up of odd accidents, and we've had the darned thing set in type for two weeks and held it over because cf lack of space. Next thing you know, he'll be announcing a new baby 'for Dan Valentine, or a Ham Park appearance before the Ladies Bridge Club. Effective Jan. 1, The Beaver County News will succeed The Beaver Press and Milford News. Both names will continue to appear ap-pear on the masthead; neither paper will "fold up" or lose its identity. The Beaver County News will be a six to ten page paper each week, carrying full county news. ' We plan separate women's pages for each town, and have added a number of regular weekly features. . The change to one newspaper VS for the county is made neces- V sarv as an economy move including economy of time. It will be mailed in both Mil-lord Mil-lord and Beaver on Thursdays- In order to publish on Thursday, Thurs-day, strict "deadlines" will be in effect. All society and club news must be in by Tuesday afternoon; also church, seminary, semi-nary, school news, and the correspondence cor-respondence from Minersville, Greenville, Manderfield, North Creek etc. Such material re-1 ceived after Tuesday evening will be held over for the following fol-lowing week. Advertising "mats" must be in by Monday, afternoon; final ad copy by Tuesday afternoon. We believe that our subscribers subscrib-ers and our advertisers will be pleased with the change, after it has been in effect for a few weeks, and we will be able to publish a larger, better newspaper, news-paper, more efficiently promoting promot-ing all the communities of the county. Nevada got a world-wide reputation because folks who didn't want to live together could get a divorce there when other states said they "had to be good." And they still have good roads, and good train service, into Nevada. Education is the answer to most moral problems not laws.
