The discovery has been made that the body of the infant son of George Keithley of Lusk, Wy., has been' stolen from the cemetery by ghouls. Representative Cooper's bounty bill, appropriating $40,000 for the payment of bounty on predatory wild animals killed during the next two years, was up in the Wyoming legislature last week, and caused much discussion. Seeing that the opposition to the measure was very strong, the backers back-ers of the bill cut the amount of the appropriation to $25,000, but its opponents oppo-nents will fight for an appropriation of not more than $20,000. George Johnson, one of the best known ranchers in the Shields river (Montana) country, was fatally stabbed by C. F. Jones, a young man, during a quarrel in a saloon. Jones ran a six-inch blade of a hunting knife through Johnson's lung. The man Kirley who is being held at Billings, Mont., will make a clean breast of the affair of the Bridger bank robbery. He will not be taken to Red Lodge until after confession is obtained, ob-tained, as officers fear that the other prisoners will do him harm. |
