At the continuation of the trial of Major Edwin B. Glenn of the Fifth infantry, in-fantry, who is charged with unlawfully killing seven prisoners of war in Sa-mar, Sa-mar, a Spaniard who was at one time held prisoner by the insurgents testified testi-fied that while he was confined at the headquarters of General Lukebam in Samar in May of 1900,, he saw an American prisoner roasted to death. The Spaniard said sticks were driven into the man's body and he was slowly turned over until dead. The body was then left to be devoured by hogs. He did not know the man's name, but thought he was an officer. Several officers and men were captured cap-tured or missing in Samar in 1900, and the victim is believed to have been of these.
