Show Before the 1 Footlights S. Miller Kent and his strong company gave a powerful presentation pre-sentation of the unique drama, "The Cowboy and the Lady," to a, iarse audience at the opera houselast Wednesday evening. The play is peculiarly constructed, construct-ed, and is somewhat inconsistent, inconsis-tent, but it furnished ample latitude lati-tude for the lights and shadows, the daring and chivalry, the kindness and cruelty of the cowboy's cow-boy's life. Mr. Miller is a pleasing pleas-ing and capable actor and gave a lovable and amusiag portrayal go the character of the cowboy ' dud;. Miss Harmon proved to be a powerful actress, especially in the trial scene. Miss Northern as Midge, Mr. Holmes as Joe, and Mr. Magers -as Pete, were spirited and amusing in their various parts. The pastoral southern drama, 1 "Human Htarts," was presented ' 1 at the opera house last evening. "Coriar.ton" opens at the California Cali-fornia theatre in San Francisco for a two weeks' run next Monday. |
