Show JUST ARRIVED. At P.A. Nielsen's, a well selected stock of Men's Clothing, Hats, Caps, and Furnishing Goods. The best ever brought to Cache County. Prices low. 15-4f?

WELLSVILLE CANAL AND MANUFACTURING CO. This company was incorporated Oct. 2d?, 1880?, with a capital stock of $50,000, of which $10,000 has already been subscribed. It is the intention of the company to construct a canal from Muddy River near Old Paradise?, to the north precinct line of Wellsville, for the purpose of obtaining a sufficient supply of water for irrigating, domestic and manufacturing purposes.

Three miles of the canal are now finished and in working order. Bishop W. H. Maughan completed this spring three quarters of a mile himself. Six miles more will convey water to Wellsville tanning district, and three six miles are nearly completed. When fully completed the canal will be about 7? Miles long, a length which will enable it to convey water to thousands of acres of good land. Further than this it is the intention to run machinery with the waters of the canal, and thus to start manufacturing industries in Wellsville.

We cannot speak too highly in praise of this enterprise, nor too strongly advocate its completion. Its prime-movers are men of sound magneity, who have at heart and in view the very best interests of the community which will be benefited by it, and that community should lend its most earnest ??? towards hastening the completion of the project. We congratulate Wellsville upon its enterprise in planning such a work and have no doubt but that the thrifty people of that town will "put her through" with promptness.

AN OLD PROPHECY. The agitators in Ireland are using the following prophecy as a campaign document to stir up the superstitious Irish peasantry to resistance against law. The prophecy is said to have been uttered in the seventh century by a noted Irish saint named Mologa, and has lately been unearthed by a Land Leaguer from among some ancient folk lore:

Eighteen eight -one, The stranger is undone. In Coreagh shall be seen, The red beneath the green. Eighteen eighty-three, McCarthy's sons are free; The green above the red, The lion's litter dead.

The phrase "green above the red" evidently signifies the triumph of the Irish flag over that of Great Britain. The "lion's litter" probably means the nobility of England who own estates, &c. in Ireland.

The years from 1851 to 1883 inclusive seem, for some reason, to have appeared singularly attractive to ancient prognosticators as subjects for their prophecies, and a glance at the present condition of the nation would ????? that those years are to be frought with events of great importance to mankind.

A GOOD FARM FOR SALE.

At Providence, within three miles of Logan City.
