Show A FIRE On Wednesday afternoon about four o'clock a fire occurred in the northern part of town. It was located in a back room at the residence of Mr. Yorgeson on main St.[street], three blocks north of Z.C.M.I. forty or fifty men soon assembled with buckets and a part of them forming into two rows from the water ditch to the house kept a continued stream of water pouring on the burning portion of the house, the others were on the house tearing away the roof or engaged in carrying out household goods. In a short time the flames were extinguished, before any serious injury to the main building had occurred. The origin of the fire is supposed to be in the ?[wood] work surrounding the stovepipe between the ?? and roof. The old story! When will people learn to take ?? precaution in making ?[flues, fire] ?[proof] ?[regard] ?[fire]. |
