Garrard, a medical social worker at McKay-De- e Hospital Center for the past ten years, has fe p-.- received his master of social work degree from the University of Utah. He also received a certification letter in health and mental health, indicating he has completed subspecific classes in those jects. 'MR. GARRARD received his bachelors degree in sociology from Weber State College in 1967. He was employed as a case worker for the Davis County Welfare Department for 24 years. He also served as a consultant for the Garden Home Training Center, Clearfield, after joinHospital ing the McKay-De- e staff in 1969. He has been working on his masters degree for the past three years, attending the Graduate School of Social Work at the University a day and a half each week, in ad- - -- work at one-ye- ar internships at the Youth Development Center, Ogden and at the hospital. His principal responsibility at the hospital has been to accomplish discharge planning for patients leaving the hospital. He helps patients and their families make arrangements for nursing home care, when it is needed, and also works with numerous state and community agencies. has been a lifelong resident of the community except for one year in Bountiful. His wife, the former Linda Jensen, is employed as a nurses aide and ward clerk at McKay-DeThe couple has two sons and two daughters.
