Show Services held for Whitaker Calif, and Winnie Short of Maud, Oklahoma. Raymond spent 5 years in the seivice of his country during WWII. Much of his Raymond Lee Whitaker 59, died October 11, 1977 at the Valley View Medical i Center in Cedar City Utah. Born March 13, 1918 in Stratford, Oklahoma to Charles Alexander and Nora Lee Jones Whitaker. Married Pauline Craig November 11, 1941. Raymond was a pipefitter and plumber. Veteran of World War II and a member of the First Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of Midvalley; a son and a daughter; Dana Whittaker of Manhattan Beach, Calif, and Larry Whittaker of Chula Vista, Calif. Also surviving are two grandchildren, grand-children, two brothers and four sisters; Vernon Whittaker of Borrego Springs, Calif., Minnie Bronsema of Midvalley, Ut., Burl Whittaker and Margaret Agee both of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Liness Pollock of Potters Valley, time spent in the army was in the Phillipine Islands and the Panama Canal Zone. Raymond retired from Civil Service in 1973 and moved from Chula Vista, Calif, to Cedar City. Raymond was a good man to know. He was a good husband, a good father, and a good brother. He was a man who loved to work with his hands-always improving any place where he lived and leaving it better than when he moved there. Raymond was a man who enjoyed the outdoors. He loved camping, picnicing, fishing and hunting. Funeral services were held Friday, October 14, 1977 at 2:00 p.m. in the Cedar First Baptist Church under the direction of the Spilsbury & Graff Mortuary. |
