MR. AND MRS. JESS GUYMON Mr. and Mrs. Jess Guymon to observe Golden Wedding date Valentine Day has been chosen as the date for an Open House in honor of the Golden Wedding Anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Jess Guymon of Parowan. The affair, to which friends and relatives have been invited to attend, will he held in the Parowan Third Ward cultural hall from 8 to 10 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 14. The open house is being given by the Guymon's four children who will all be in attendance. The children include Lloyd Guymon of Livermore, Calif.; Mrs. Milton (Grace) Jones, Ukiah, Calif.; Mrs. Walt (LaVonna) Forster of Roy and Mrs. Joe (Joyce) Hamilton of St. George. Along with their spouses, the Guymon's 25 grandchildren and one great grandchild are expected ex-pected to be in attendance. This will include one grandson who will return from a mission this week. The Guymons both grew up in Parowan and were married in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on January 19, 1926, which was also their birthdays. Mrs. Guymon is the former Golda Gurr, daughter ' of Peter H. and Grace O. Gurr. Mr. Guymon's parents were Mark L. and Zilpha L. Guymon. Both have been active in church and community affairs. Mr. Guymon served as a missionary in the southern states and was bishop of the Parowan East Ward for five years. He served as an Iron County Commissioner for eight years and was president of the Five County Organization the first two years of its formation. He also served in World War I, fighting in the front lines in the Argonne. "Jess" was in the sheep business for many years but has been a cattleman for over 20 years, a business which he still runs along with a farm. Mrs. Guymon has worked in the Ward and Stake Primary, Relief Society and MIA organizations. She has also been active in literary organizations and the Daughters of Utah Pioneers and the Legion Auxiliary. They are presently officiators in the St. George LDS Temple two days a week and teach the gospel doctrine class in the Parowan Second Ward. f
