Show Burns K. Sherratt Is Victim 0f Heart Ailment if V 1 X - n- BURNS K. SHERRATT I Burns King Sherratt, 39, prom-inent prom-inent civic worker of Cedar City, died at his home this morning, Thursday, of a massive coronary occlusion, which brought Instant death. A life-long resident of Cedar City, he has been actively engaged en-gaged in community betterment projects throughout his lifetime. His affiliation and work through various cvr and service organizations organ-izations had won foe him the r spect and admiration of the entire en-tire community. Funeral services have been tentatively set for Saturday afternoon af-ternoon at 2 o'clock. Arrangements Arrange-ments are being made by the Southern Utah Mortuary. Born on May 20, 1918 In Cedar City to Mr. and Mrs. Robert Sher-ratt, Sher-ratt, he married Ila Gurr of Parowan Par-owan on May 6, 1938. He Is survived sur-vived by his mother and wife; tuut K 1 m aaa t u 1 ft m mA a daughter, Ann, 16; three sisters, Mrs. Leslie (Marion) Hahne, Mrs. Lawrence (Verda) Mlsel and Evone Sherratt, all of Cedar City. He has served as post commander com-mander of the local unit of the American Legion. He served In the United States Army during World War II In the China-Burma-India theatre. He became highly active In the Junior Chamber of Commerce serving as a local president and as a vice president with the Vtah Jaycees. At the time of his death he was serving as president cf the Cedar Ce-dar City Klwanls Club. He hat been a member and served on the board of directors of the Chamber of Commerce, a position posi-tion he was holding this year and for a number of years he has served on the recreation com-mittee com-mittee of the Coordinating Council Coun-cil of Cedar City. j He was employed as a line driver for Garrett Freight Lines and had been with the company j for the past 15 years. |
