Show Former Pa rowan man diesin Wyoming PAROVVAN - John Robert Stevens, age 91, of Cowley, Wyoming died October 2, 1977 at the West Park County Hospital in Cody. Born in Parowan on January 6, 1886 to John and Sarah Stevens. He was a High Priest in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and a retired farmer-rancher farmer-rancher and salesman. He pioneered in the Big Horn Basin beginning in 1904. On April 8, 1908 he married Geneva Moore in the Salt Lake Temple. During retirement he and his wife spent many years doing genealogical and temple work. He was preceded in death by his wife Geneva on April 1, 1971 and two sons, Clair and Mark. One daughter, Geneva Schroeder. He is survived by eight of his eleven children: Two sons, Dr. Delwin M. Stevens of St. George and Ira M. Stevens of Billings, Montana and six daughters; Mrs. Sterling (Elma) Johnson and Mrs. John K. (Norma) Black of Lovell, Mrs. R. Vernon (Gwen) Robertson of St. George; Mrs. Harold O. I (VerJean) Baker of J Hazelton, Idaho. Mrs. I Wayne L. (Donna) Rollins of Roy and Mrs. Howard V. I (Murie) Sannon of Medicine Hat. Alberta Canada. He is I also survived by one j brother, Walter G. Steven of I St. George and one sister, j Mrs. Sarah E. Hulet of Parowan. Also 49 grand- I children, 100 great grand- j children and four great I great grandchildren. I Funeral services were I held Wed. October 5 at 1 p.m. I in the Cowley Ward Chapel. I Interment was in the Cowley I Cemetery. I Sarah Hulet. and Mr. and J Mrs. Walter Hulet traveled I to Cowley to attend the j funeral services for their j brother. i |
