Show Wendell Slack dies of heart attack; honored at Services Wendell Perry Slack 48, died May 27, 1976 at the Valley View Medical Center in Cedar City of a Heart Attack. Wendell was born July 21, 1927 in Cedar City to Fredric and Marcella Perry Slack. He married Phyllis Madsen January 31, 1948 in Yma, Arizona. Wendell was the Calif. Pacific Utilities powerplant Supertendent and a member of the L.D.S. Church. He was a Veteran of World War II, member of Cedar City Elks Lodge 1556 and a member of the Cedar City Volunteer Fire Department. He is survived by his wife of Cedar City; sons and daughters; Mrs. Craig (Paulette) Matheson; F. Layne Slack and Marcy Slack all of Cedar City; and W. til WENDELL PERRY SLACK Perry Slack of Page, Ariz. Also surviving is his mother of Cedar City; 6 Grandchildren; brothers and sisters; Darald A. Slack of Fayetteville, Ark,; Mr. Ralph (Carma) Hulet of Parowan, Utah; Mrs. Clark (Shirleen) Newell of Mona, Ut. and F. Gordon Slack of Cedar City. Funeral Services were held Tuesday, June 1, 1976 at 1 p.m. in the Cedar Fifth L.D.S. Ward Chapel with Bishop Wallace Heap conducting. , The family prayer was offered by Clark Newell with Frank Berrett playing the prelude, postlude music and McKay Smith giving the Invocation. Musical selections selec-tions consisted of a vocal solo by Christine Winterrose and a Organ Medley by Frank Berrett. A Eulogy was given by D. Perry Mackelprahg, the speaker was V. R. Magleby with remarks by Bishop Wallace Heap. The benediction was offered by Zealand Murdock and Ralph Hulet dedicated the grave. Graveside services were rendered ren-dered by the Cedar City Elks Lodge 1556 and the Cedar City Veterans of Foreign Wars. Interment In-terment was in the Cedar City Cemetery under the direction of the Spilsbury & Graff Mortuary. |
