Graff, of Hurricane and St. George candiate for State School Board Member for District 1, which consists of 11 counties in the south and west part of our state. I am asking for your vote. My experience should qualify me for the position. On leaving college I taught JV school 4 years. Now I manage my 0i. fyjf store farms and my 1000 cow Y Vr'N range operation. C I feel there Is a vast potential l 1 1 for improvement and change in WW 1 the Public scnoo,s tnat educate 11 1 Utah's 350,000 school children. 11 I would like to work at this I U 1 change. I have the support and endorsement of President Alton Wade of Dixie College and School Supertendent Jack Burr of our Washington County School District and Dr. Karl Brooks Mayor of St. George. I would want to ask all school people, and the public how we' can better the schools? Also ask all to give encouragement, support, and respect to the teachers and administrators of our schools. High school work should be done in high school and not drag along and have to be done in college. Many students not intending to go to college are unprepared to enter the work force. Those intending to find employment after high school should be better equiped, and trained in practical skills in order to enter the demanding world of today. Thereby we would have less unemployment amoung H youth; with preparation, our students should be excellent employees, strong, alert.and impressive. They must, however, be trained with skills they can use. If elected, I would want to talk health care, what good is it all without health. The big problem in education is getting students to understand their educational needs. Unfortunately, some just serve time in school. How can we inspire them? Enlisting local agricultural, business, and professional people to spend time with students would help them understand what they had to do to achieve success. It should awaken a desire in some students that even the best conventional training might fail to do. New! Homeowners insurance you can pay for by the month. JOt MUMMXMENCV MW.Cnr Cwlar City.
