O'Brien and children .have turned from California, where they have been spending the winter. Mr. and Mrs. H. J. Hayward are home again after a pleasant visit in California. Miss Mary Cowan has returned from Philadelphia, where she has been attending at-tending school during the past year. Mrs. Ruth Leeds Kerr of Washington. Washing-ton. D. C. is here for a fortnight's visit. She will pass the summer with Mr, and Mrs. Mark Kerr at Grass Valley, Cal. Mrs. J. C. Lynch hfs returned from a trip to California. '. ' Mrs. Sarah A. McChrystal announces Mrs. Ezra Thompson and daughter. Xorinne, have returned from a three weeks' pleasure trip to California. Miss N'elle Healey of Ogden in the guest of Miss Julia Hays. the engagement of her daughter, Sarah, to Mr. Edward C. Parsons, the marriage mar-riage to take place the latter part o June. Miss Lena Welby is expected homo from Philadeiphia on. the Tth of June. Messsrs. James Ferrell and W. V. Rice have gone south to inspect a ranch in the Rabbit valley section. The Tuesday Afternoon Sewing club ! meets with Mrs. H. N. Mayo a week from Tuesday next. Mrs. Joseph Kirk will spend the next few weeks in Chicago visiting relatives. Mrs. G. Y. Candish of Wyoming and Miss Eldred of Virginia are visiting friends on East Brigham. The Misses McGovern have returned from the east, where they have spent the past two months, and are at home at 72 North State street. Hoyt Shernian;ji-., left for Denver. Monday night, where he will join Mrs: Sherman, who has been visiting in Des Moines, la. They will return to Salt Lake in about a week. Dr. and Mrs. S. H. Plnkerton have ! moved from the Knutsford to the Fifth East hotel, Mrs. Pinkerton having returned re-turned from California on Tuesday. Mrs. Albert Herz has returned from Chicago after a pleasant visit at the home of her father, and rejoined her husband at the Miller. Miss Dorothy Kinney has returned to the city and is settled at the Kenyon, until the arrival of her sister, Miss Mary Kinney. The links were In perfect condition and the new game of clock golf was greatly, enjoyed by the enthusiasts. The hostesses were Mrs. William Gibson Sharp' and Miss Woodward, and they were assisted by Mrs. Sturgiss. Mrs. darkness, Mrs. Bidwell and Miss Harkness. Tea was served on the veranda and fine music was furnished by the Anderson-Lam-son quartette. The prizes, which were dainty little golf watches in leather, were won by Mrs. Sturgiss and Mr. McGurrin. On the green the men played Scotch threesomes. Miss Julia Hays was hostess of a very delightful card party on Tuesday afternoon of last week, given complimentary to Misi Enid Moffat. Mof-fat. The house .was beautifully' decorated with bridal wreath and snowballs. Euchre was the game played, the prizes being -,won bv Mrs. Madison. Mrs. L, Kimball and Miss Moffat received the guest prize.
