Show Obituary. On Saturday, Sept 28, Mrs. Johanna Murphy passed peacefully and quietly away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Alice Gaffney, 1130 West Ninth avenue. Her funeral occurred Tuesday morning, with requiem mass at St. Joseph's Jo-seph's church, on Sixth avenue and South Water street. Burial was in Mount Calvary cemetery. Mrs. Mary E. Roberts, wife of George L. Roberts, died on Saturday, Sept 28, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Edward Ed-ward Hauck, 3814 Vrain street. The funeral was held Tuesday morning, Oct. 1, from her daughter's home, to the Church of the Holy Family in Berkeley, where Rev. Father O'Ryan of St. Leo's, an old friend of the deceased, de-ceased, officiated at requiem mass and spoke feelingly of the virtuous life of the departed wife and mother. Burial was in Mount Olivet cemetery. ' Jules N. Lavoie of 2818 Clay street died on Saturday, Sept 28, after a short illness. His funeral took place Monday at 9:30 o'clock from St Dominic's church. Rev. Father O'Neil, O. P., saying say-ing requiem mass in the presence of a large concourse of friends and representatives repre-sentatives of religious societies of which the young man had been a member. mem-ber. The funeral of Michael Kane, who died in Denver on Thursday, Sept. 26, was held the following Saturday from St. Elizabeth's church, where requiem mass was said by Rev. Father Meyer. Burial was in Mount Olivet cemetery. Rosario Chlrihello, prominent in the Italian colony, died on Wednesday, Sept. 25, at his home, 3256 Mariposa street. Burial service was read Sunday Sun-day afternoon, Sept. 29, in Mount Car-mel Car-mel church, after which the body, escorted es-corted by various fraternal societies, was taken to Mount Calvary cemetery. |
