Show DEATH OF SISTER RAYMOND. Sister Raymond is dead, was the news that came from St. Mary's, Indiana, last Wednesday. She was one of the two Sisters of the Holy Cross who came to Salt Lake in May, 1875, to found St. Mary's Academy. With her. companion jMother.M. Augusta, Augus-ta, she labored devotedly aALaalously in founding the first institution c f llfrr prder beyond the Rocky Mountains. They a isiteo. fevary mining camp in Utah and were gendrousny assisted wherever they went. Their hardships, traveling in stages and climbing mountains, were cheerfully borne because be-cause their mission was one of love. For many-years many-years after the completion of St. Mary's, Sister Raymond taught in the academy and acted as one of the chief advisers for the superiors. Since her recall from Salt Lake she lived at the mother house where she died a peaceful and happy death. R. I. P. |
