Show j Obi wary., Dominick P. Tarpey. A large circle of friends in this city will learn with deepest regret thnt D. P. Tarpey died Monday at his home in San Francisco from Brighfs disease. Word had previously been received that he was not expected to live, and his :!osest friends were,, therefore, somewhat some-what prepared for the news, although if was none the less saddening. Mr. i'fcrpey was one of those genial man r. ho go through life w ith a smile and ready word for everyone, and it can be said of him that he numbered his acquaintances as his friends.. In business busi-ness he was quite successful. lie came to Salt Lake as resident land agent for the Southern Pacific, and also owned the Toltec Ranch company, in Box Elder county. He lived here from 1S.S4 until about five years ago. when he moved to California. . His early home was on Eleventh East, the artistic house set on sloping lawns between Seventh and Eighth South. Here the family lived for years and the boys made m.any friends in the neighborhood. Mr. Tarpey also lived In Pioche. Virginia City. White Pine and other mining camps, where he followed fol-lowed mining. He leaves a wife, four sons and two daughters, all. of whom have the sympathy of their Salt Lake ft lends. |
