Show u CATHEDRAL NOTES. Mrs. J. B. Cosgriff and Miss Cosgriff are the ladies appointed to attend to the altars this week. Rev. Father Cushnahan, with a party of thirty Ogden friends, came in Monday night to attend the All Hallows' Hal-lows' concert. The rehearsal for the children of the Junior Cho'r is held every Saturday .tfternoon at 3:15. Parents are requested re-quested to send their children. High mass will be discontinued the last of this month. . 0 Services will be held at the Utah state penitentiary next Sunday. The meeting of the Sodality of the Children of Mary was held last Sunday Sun-day afternoon at St. Mary's Academy. Ten young gentlemen received di plomas on jnonaay irom au nauuwa, and six young ladies graduated with honor from St. Mary's academy on Wednesday, making two exceptionally large classes graduated' from these institutions. Sunday school will be discontinued for the summer the last of this month. The members of the K. of C. lodge wil go to Ogden on Sunday to institute insti-tute a new Council. A new baritone voice has been added add-ed to the 11 o'clock choir, Mr. W. Murray Mur-ray having joined last week. A large crowd came doW from Butte and Great Falls to attend the All Hallows' concert. The rosary lost by Miss Hardin at St Mary's has not yet been found. ' At all the masses on Sunday, prayers pray-ers were requested for the repose of the soul of James P. Crowley, who died last week in Vermont. The deceased de-ceased was the father of Miss Mable Crowley and brother of Mrs. S. J. Murray Mur-ray of this city. Friday, being the Feast of the Sacred Sac-red Heart, was the principal Feast of the League, and was a day of great devotion on the part of the members. : A large number of the promoters and members received holy communion. Rev. Father Kiely, the spiritual director, direc-tor, celebrated mass and delivered a shtort but impressive instruction to the members. In the evening benediction benedic-tion of the Blessed Sacrament was given at 7:30. Among the visiting clergy who spent the past week attending the school commencements were seen Rev. Father Delahunty of Rawlins, Rev. Father Sheehan of Austin, Rev. Father Donohue of Eureka, Rev. Father Cushnahan of Ogden, Rev. Father Pauline of Great Falls, R ev. Father Harding of New Orleans and Rev. Father Galligan of Park City. The infant child of Mr. and Mrs. R. V. Kirkham was baptized last Sunday Sun-day by Rev. Father Morrissey. Mr. and Mrs. J. Meade were the sponsors. Requiem high mass was celebrated at St. Mary's academy this morning (Saturday) by Rev. Father Curran, at the request of the Alumni association, for the repose of the soul of Sister Lucretia, who died last month. The Catholic members of the association all received Holy Communion. Rev. Father Harding of New Orleans Or-leans is visiting in the city at the residence of Rev. Bishop Scanlan. Father Harding, who is a college friend of Rev. Father Morrissey, delivered deliv-ered the sermon at St. Mary's last Sunday ,and made a splendid impression impres-sion on the large congregation. |
