Show I LOCAL AND PERSONAL NEWS 1 H. A. Kearns made a business visit to Nephi and other Juab county cities last Tuesday. John Tuft was down from Salt Lake several days this week visiting with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Tuft. T. C. Candland, representing the Seeley-Hinckley Auto agency, was here several days this week in the interests in-terests of his company. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Rasmussen have returned from a visit to Ephraim. Eph-raim. They spent Christmas week with relatives and friends at the northern city. Edward Jones, a former Gunnison business man, but now of Garfield. Utah, spent several days in town last week renewing acquaintances. Mr. Jones stated that Gunnison looked good to him and he -. expressed his firm belief that the city would soon be among the big cities of Southern Utah. Miss Evangeline Jensen of Elsi-nore Elsi-nore is the house guest of Miss Christie Chris-tie Madsen this week. Miss Mary Tuft left for Salt Lake last week to be the guest of her brother. Clyde Tuft, and family. She is expected home tomorrow. Mr. and Mrs. Austin Kearns have returned from a week's visit . with relatives at Springville. They spent Christmas with relatives there. J. C. Mellor, vice-president and director, di-rector, and Roy C. Mellor. a stockholder stock-holder in the Gunnison Valley Bank, attended the special meeting of the stockholders of the bank held here last Monday. Andrew T. Christiansen, son ot Mr. and Mrs. Peter Christiansen, and a former resident of Gunnison, is in the city for an indefinite visit with bis parents. Mr. Christiansen has been absent for fourteen years and has been residing in Washington and Oregon. |
