Show Democrats to Meet j Here Next Saturday Legislative and County Ticket to Be Named for Coming Election Berg-lund Berg-lund Endorsed for State Senator. J. A. Tuft, William Barduley, A. E. Fark, J. M. Knighton, M. Beauregard, Beaure-gard, J. W. Jones, Charles Rasmus-sen Rasmus-sen and O. B. Berglund were ehosen as delegates to the Democratic county convention which is to be held in this city next Saturday, and E. L. Swalbcrg, Leo Bardsley, M. D. Beauregard and Mina Beauregard were named as alternates, at a meeting meet-ing held here Tuesday night. The meeting was an enthusiastic one and was well attended. In addition to naming the delegates dele-gates O. B. Breglund, candidate for the nomination for state senator from Sanpete county was unanimously unani-mously endorsed by the delegation. A. E. Park for county attorney will also be supported at the Saturday convention by the local delegation. Reuben Christcnsen was nominated nominat-ed for precinct justice and John P. Jensen was named for constable. Both are incumbents of the respective respec-tive offices. The convention scheduled for Saturday Sat-urday will be held at the Casino theater will open at 11 o'clock in the morning. Quite a few candidates candid-ates will bo in the field and the session ses-sion promises to be a lively one. There' will be 128 delegates from the various precincts throughout the county and this number will be aug-umented aug-umented by the several candidates and their friends and it is expected that more than 200 visitors will be here Saturday. A complete legislative and county ticket will be named and candidates will be selected for the following: One Senator, four year tenn. Two Representatives. One County Commissioner, two yetar term. I One county commissioner, four I year term. One county treasurer. One county sheriff. One couney clerk. One county recorder. One county surveyor. One county assessor. One county attorney. The basis of representation will be one delegate for each twenty votes cast in 1920 for Honorable T. N. Taylor for Governor, as follows. Indianola 2 Milburn 12 Fairview v. 12 Mount Pleasant 23 Spring City 8 Ephraim 15 Manti 12 Sterling 2 Mayficld 3 Gunnison 9 Centerfield 6 Fayette . .' 1 Chester 2 Wales 2 Freedom 2 Moroni 11 Axtell 2 Fountain Green 4 Considerable interest is being shown in the candidacy of 0. B. Berg lund for state senator, George Fisher of Manti for the office of sheriff and the commissionership. Gunnison, it if announced by the "piaster minds," will not go after a commissioner this year. Ephraim, however, will have a candidate in the field for this office, and will come with the delegation from all parts of the northern end of the county as supporters for the candidate. |
