Show Early Resident Is Called By Death Ms. C. L. Hansen, a resident of Gunnison Valley for many years past died at her home in Centerfield early last Sunday morning, following a lingering illness as a result of heart trouble. Recently the malady resulted re-sulted into a dropsical condition and for 42 hours before death came Mrs. Hansen was unconscious. Death came peacefully and closed the career ca-reer of a highly respected woman. Impressive funeral services were held Monday afternoon for the deceased de-ceased at the Centerfield meeting house. Bishop Chas. Hansen 'pffi-ciated 'pffi-ciated and several musical selections under -the: direction of W. A. Fjeld-sted Fjeld-sted were given during the ceremonies. ceremon-ies. The songs in order were "Sun of my Soul" "Shall I Receive a Welcome Wel-come Home," "Come to Me" and "It is Well With My Soul." Following invocation by . Newman Beck, Patriarch John Larson, A. C. Fjeld3ted and Jens Beck gave short addresses extolling the life of the departed. de-parted. Benediction was offered by Chris A Peterson and the grave didication1 was attended to by Anton Christensen. Louise Kathrine Hansen was a native na-tive of Denmark, the daughter of Mf. and Mrs. Jvend Jensen. She was horn March 13 IRKfl At- ha arra eight years she became a member of the Mormon church and since lived and practiced her belief. In the year 1873 she came to America and married mar-ried Christian Hansen and the following follow-ing year came to Gunnison valley. She made her home here until death claimed her. Besides her son, Chas. O. Hansen and family consisting of three grandsons grand-sons and two grand daughters, Mrs. Hansen is survived by three brothers Jens C. Jensen, living in Denmark Hans C. and Brigham Jensen of Centerfield, Cen-terfield, and Moroni Jensen a half brother living in Gunnison. Mrs. C. B. Carr and Mrs. Alma Dorius of Salt Lake, relatives of the deceased were among those from outside attending at-tending the funeral. |
