Show Death Summons ! Early Pioneer I ' Falling a victim of the dread dis-! dis-! ease pneumonia, which followed fail- case pneumonia, following failing I health for several weeks, Fredricka I Fjeldsted of this city passed peace-j peace-j fully to the other world at her home early Monday morning. Mrs. Fjeld-sled Fjeld-sled was surrounded by her husband and all the children, excepting one, i when the end came. While she had been extremely ill there had been times during her illness that gave en-j en-j couraging hopes for her recovery, but a sudden change came Sunday and i she gradually sank, life passing away j about 2 o'clock Monday morning. I Mrs. Fjeldsted was 65 years of age and she had been a resident of Gunnison Gun-nison for nearly (iffy years. She was born in Denmark in 1857, and w-hen but a mere child came to the United States with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. N. C. Tollestrup. The family settled in Salt Lake City, remaining there but a few years. Later they came to Gunnison and the deceased had resided resid-ed here continuously since that time. In 1S75 the deceased was married to J. I'. Fjeldsted, one of the early settlers of the valley. Besides the sorrowing husband, Mrs. Fjeldsted is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Linda Lin-da Myrup, Mrs. Kate Johnson and Misses Evelyn and Elma Fjeldsted of this city, and Mrs. Lois Beck of Otto, Wyo. ; four sons, Fred J. of Tooele, Leonard of Los Angeles, and LaBarth and Byron of this city, and fourteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild. In her youth, Mrs. Fjeldsted became be-came a member of the Latter-day Saints church, and has always been a faithful and ardent worker. She spent- much time in Relief society work, and by her kindness and loving ways made hosts of friends who will grieve at her death. Funeral services were held at the family home yesterday afternoon at 1 o'clock. The home was crowded to capacity with friends who had gathered to pay the last respects. Services were under the directions of Bishop Swalberg. |
