Show Former Baker Gets State-Wide Publicity Luris Allen, formerly operator of the Gunnison bakery, now a student at the Agricultural college, is getting widespread notoriety through the columns of the state papers through his successful achievement as "Doughnut "Dough-nut King." Allen, apparently, has inherited in-herited something of the ingenius of his Puritan ancestors. Statements are to the effect that the former baker is a descendant of four Allen brothers who came to America on the Mayflower, May-flower, and withstood the rigid tribulations tribu-lations of the first settlers. Luris has the "stuff" of the descendants, apparently, for the reason that he is working 'his way through the collegej by making and selling doughnuts. Not only this, but he draws down enough through the sales to comfortably support sup-port his family of four, This industrious student starts his working day at 3 a. m., using modern cooking equipment in his kitchen. rTe makes his deliveries after school hours and his products appear to have a well established reputation because he always repeats his sales.
