Show SCHOOL OPENS SEPT. 15. List of Teachers and Timely Announcement From Principal Rasmussen The Gunnison district school for the school year 1913-11, will open Monday, Sept. 35, with the following corps of teachers engaged for tbe various buildings iu the district: At the Washington school (Gunni-nison) (Gunni-nison) O. I. Rasniussou. principal, J. E. Metcalf, Keuneth "Williams, in order that parents may know, I will state that the begiuners shall not be received into the school exoept during the first four weeks after the opening of the first and the third terms of the Bchool year. No child will be admitted ad-mitted under Bix years of age. I believe that we are being furnished furnish-ed with most efficient teachers for this school year, gnd I would at this opportune time ask the parents to make a lasting friend of the teachbr. Invite the teacher to your homes and have heart to heart talks concerning the welfare of the boys and girls. The co operation of the parent and teacher will result in a vast amount of good for the pupils of the Gunnison school district. O, I. RASMUSSEN, Principal. Embley, Leo Bardsley, Mav Jones, Lillie Mellor, Florence Tuft, Eliza Jensen. At the Graut school (Axtel!) Ernest Bardsley and oue other not yet assigned A Bchool vill be established at Clarion this year, necessitating the employment of an extra teacher not as yet selected. The various buildings are being thoroughly renovated so the children will find sanitary rooms in which, to study. "We have got to be more cleaner this year wha u we go to schoo1," was an observation made by one little chap to a companion as they discussed the situation.-' I like that, 'cause when I'm clean I feel more gooder." And so we will have, not only sanitary buildings this year, but also new text books in which to study. The purchase price of these books is no small factor to meet, and a word at this time relative to the care that should be taken of them might not be out of order. These text books at the opening of school will be protect ed with sanitary covers, which must remain nn thftm dnrinf t.ho pnt.im school year. Sectiou 1847 of the Compiled laws of Utah provides : Any pupil who cuts , defaces, or otherwise iujures any school property is liable to suspension from school and upon complaint of the teacher or any trustee, the parent or guardian of such pupil shall be liable for all such damages," All parents should, therefore, caution the boys and girls to take the best of cars of their text books. "Take ordi nary care of your own property, bnt take EXTRA-ordinary care of other people's property." We will no doubt have many who will enter school for the first time. So |
