Show OCEAN TRAGEDY DIVULGED. Boat Filled With Dead Bodies Solves Mystery of Collision. Algiers. The mystery of the identity iden-tity of the sailing vessel which was lammed by the Belgian steamer Austria Aus-tria during a storm on the 12th of February near Alberan island in the Mediterranean, appears now to be r.olved. Both vessels foundered as a result of the collision, but ten members mem-bers of the crew of the Austria who had .put off in a small boat were picked up by the German steamer Liberia Li-beria and brought to Algiers. Until Sunday no word of the fate of the sailing vessel had been received. The steamer Austria, however, which arrived here Sunday, reports having sighted a drifting ship's boat between Cape Falcon and te Habibas islands off the Algerian coast on February Feb-ruary 27, on which was painted the name "Condor, London." In the boat were five bodies, one of Which slid into the sea as the steamer approached. The boat was halt swamped. The state of the bodies indicated in-dicated that the men had been dead at least ten days. |
