H. Callister, he of the Internal R Revenue office, and not Bishop T. C. Callister of Fillmore. It appears that through a misunderstanding misunder-standing of the names quite a large Gubernatorial boom has been started for the.bishop, and Manager Man-ager Anderson of the Twin forces is kept very busy correcting this most lamentable and unfortunate unfor-tunate mistake. i5 O 5 It appears about certain now that Quill Ne-beker Ne-beker will have the Democratic Gubernatorial nomination attached to his broad shoulders. His brief but hilarious experience in that capacity is sufficient indication that he is remarkably good timber for the position. The elevation of R. "W. Young to a high church .position probably disposes of him as a possibility. 5t it J$ Members of the bar are looking forward with large parcels of delight to the expiration of the term of Judge Baskin as Justice of the Supreme court, and there is much speculation regarding his possible successor. If members of the bar have the leading voice in the matter, Judge C. S. Relatives are people whom it is a Christian virtue to take care of, which argues well for Councilmen Preece and Davis. The combine between be-tween the mayor and Mr. Preece is about over, as the latter is to be supplanted by the political champion of the Red Onion, but the gentleman of the Second did some gallant work before being deposed, in placing large numbers of his friends in municipal offices. But he has made a remarkable remark-able disposition of his relatives. One brother-in-law is in the health department, another has been placed in the Street department, another has been placed in the Street department, another has been appointed city detective and a brother has been comfortably located as a member of the police department. This does not mean that Mr. Preete has not other relatives, but it isn't their turn yet. Brother A. J. Davis, during the time spent on behalf of the Red Onion, has also found time to do something for the family, one of whom is in the Waterworks department and the other H in the Land and Water Commissioner's depart H ment. If either of them runs short of available B relatives for city positions, others will probably H be sent for. H tv &i &ft Candidates for Republican nominations on tho H county ticket are becoming very numerous. For H the county commissionerships the candidates al H ready out are J. D. H. McAllister, Charles Cottrell, H Jr., Charles Standish and John C. Mackay, the H latter from Granger. The nomination for county H clerk will be contested for by J. TJ. Eldredge, Jr., H and John M. Whitaker. C. Emery, P. S. Condle, D. P. Thomas, Jack Smith and Seymour Naylor will H enter the lists in the race for nomination as H sheriff. For assessor C. M. Brown and B. B. Bib ner will be the competitors In the convention, and H J. L. May and P. O. Perkins will cross swords for I the county recordership nomination. George Wes I torvelt for some reason wishes to succeed him- H self as county attorney, but will be opposed for I the nomination by P. P. Christensen and A. B. I Irvine. j V O Friends of Governor Wells and Secretary Ham- fl mond are anxious to know which is going to run for the Governorship. Mr. Callister and Manager I Anderson also desire to be enlightened upon this I subject. H |
