Show Death off Dr. F. E. Roche. Dr. Francis Evorard Roche died at his homo in Ogdon at an early hour last Saturday I morning after a briof illness, tho result of blood poisoning. In playing with one of his grandchildren a fow days ago Dr. Roche received a slight scratch on tho leg. Little was thought of tho injury at the' time, and after blood poisoning developed it spread throughout tho system so rapidln that soon hope of saving his life was abandoned. Dr. Kocho was born in 1842 in Oastletown-liocho, county Cork, Ireland. Ho was a graduate grad-uate of Queentown college and of tho Royal university of Dublin. Dub-lin. From the latter ho received receiv-ed tho degrees of A. B. and M. 0. II. M. D. For a timo he was surgeon-major of the British reservo military forces. Ho was a fellow of tho Pathological society of London and amombor of tho British Medical association. associa-tion. At tho time of his death he was a momber of tho Utah Medical association and of tho Ogdon Medical society. Ho came to America in 1870. Ho practiced his profession in Oakland, Cal., from 1879 to 1885. Ho then wont to Ogdon and practised medicine in that city for some years. Lator he ro-moved ro-moved to Bear River valley and became largely interested in the culture of fruit. He still hold largo interests thero at tho time of his death. Three years ago he returned to Ogdon and resumed tho practice of his profession. pro-fession. Ho was tho local representative re-presentative of tho Jarvis-Con-klin company at tho timo the waterworks was established in j Ogdon. He was grand knight! , of Ogdon Council 777, Knights of Columbus, tit tho timo of his death. Ho leaves a wifo, seven sons and nine daughters. All, of these, with tho exception of , two daughters living in Eng-j land, are residents of Utah. j Tho funeral services were! hold in Ogdon Monday. ! |
