Show mopicrmvs By Vicki D. Syrett 679-8687 vickidiane36hotmail.com Many people from the Bryce Valley area and Escalante and Panguitch had a beautiful day in St. George on Apr. 1. We saw Darwin and Kathy Shakespeare of Tropic, Tom and Gay Shakespeare of Cannonville, Kev in and Jeanee Shakespeare of Tropic, Cris and Krisette Roberts and little Whitney, and Ferrell Brinkerhoff. Lewis and Alayse Roundy, who went through the S, George LDS Temple for the first time, were there of Tropic were there. They looked very happy and had family fam-ily and friends with them. Their baby is due in the next couple of weeks and so they are very excited about all the events that took place. Others I spotted in St. George on the same day were Merle Stowe from Panguitch, Sherrie Woolsey from Escalante, Alayse Roundy's grandmother was with her but I was unable to get her name. I apologize for any names I've left out; faces looked familiar but names would not' come to me. (No I am not getting old) Dixie Shakespear has been busy with visitors again. Her grandson Kerry Shakespear and his wife Rachel from Ohio came to visit with grandma and show off their beautiful little daughter, Sydney. Dixie said she is just darling. Dixie's daughter, Christy of New Castle came for a few days to stay and visit. She brought her children Miste and Brett with her. They had a very nice visit and as usual Christy helped her mother do some quilting. Then . Dixie's son Danny came from New Harmony and stayed for a night and helped out in the yard. Dixie said it is so great to have them come and to visit with them all. Charlie Francisco had to go north to have some medical work done and he is now home and resting as the doctor told him to do. Daughter, Sandrea went with him. Eva Dean said it will be nice when everyone is well and back to normal again. I am sorry I missed getting a column in last week, but I was in Central Valley near taking care of four of my grandchildren while their parents, David and Debbie Jensen, were away on a trip. It was a great experience and one I do every March while the Jensens go on a yearly venture. ven-ture. I attended the Annabelle Ward and ran into some Tropicites, Shilo and Mykelle Richards and their two boys, Keagan and Chancey. It always amazes me how you can run into home folks when you are away from home. Even off the beaten path. Rella Alvey had a wonderful week with her family. From West Valley City visiting with Rella were Carol and Larry Cloward. Rella, Carol, Florence Syrett and Sonie Allen of Panguitch, and Janet Pollock of Tropic, all went to Washington, Utah to see some adorable twin boys. They are eight months old and are the grandsons of Sonie and Lynn Allen of Panguitch. Then on Rella's birthday there was another group of visitors who dropped by to share all the goodies that we have at parties. Nicole Pollock helped Rella blow out the candles on her cake. Those who stopped in were Helma and Elaine Haas, Faye Pollock, Janet Pollock, Florence Syrett, Sonie Allen, and Louise Ott. Rella received many thoughtful gifts and especially espe-cially enjoyed the one that Kent Wintch brought by. It was a book that Rella's dear mother Mabel Ott had given to Betty Wintch on her birthday, Apr. 23, 1952. Inside the book was a message written in Mabel's own hand which is very special for Rella to have now. Rella appreciated appre-ciated everyone so much and is thankful that she was here after the rough year she had last year. Everyone wanted Rella to know how much they all love her!! On Mar. 22, the Senior Singles Family Home Evening was held in the Tropic LDS Ward Relief Society room where future classes on scrap-booking scrap-booking were discussed. Attending were Rella Alvey, Helma Haas, Bonnie Willis, Allyson Sudweeks, Margaret Mecham, Louise Ott, Dixie Shakespear, and Janet Pollock. They reminisced about the days when the snow was so deep that the cow's udder would be frozen. Rella read an interesting poem she had written about the four seasons. They agreed how much they miss those now homebound with sickness and send best wishes. |
