Show By Mamie Talbot 676-8084 It's April, really, but the snow flakes are still fighting to fall on the greening valley. We need the moisture. The human snowbirds are beginning to move north. Bill and Sarah Kay are back and Jake and Peggy Bagnell are home from Quartzite, Ariz. Panguitch native Elder Robert F. (Bob) and his wife Joy Orton were home from the north to see Bob's dad Frank Orton before they go to Russia for the next five years. Bob was called, in LDS General Conference, to be a member of the Second Quorum of the Seventy. He will no longer practice law now that he is a general authority. We wish them many blessings and much happiness. Bob and Jill McCulIough went to St. George for medical reasons. Jill's mom, Verna Owens, is there and several brothers and sisters, so it made a family reunion. Our dear Billie Owens Miller passed away on Apr. 8. Her funeral was held on Apr. 12. Her husband, Wallace, preceded her a few months ago. Our love goes to the family. Dave and Karran Harris went to Arizona for the blessing of a new grandchild. In the LDS 2nd ward, six young people gave talks on "Following The Prophet." They were Tiffany Bulkley, Steven Moore, Ashlee Orton, Rory Hatch, Lacee Leach, and Cassidy McCulIough. McCul-Iough. In the LDS 3rd ward, the youth speakers were Katie Fischer and Jeff Stewart. The adult speakers were Annette and Del Hulet. The Bobettes drill team from Panguitch High School went to California for national competition. competi-tion. Art and Beverly Crosby had daughter Kathy Ping and family here from New Mexico for a week. While they were here, the rest of the brothers and sisters, Bill-Robert, Bill-Robert, Steve, Cheri, Sharlene and 1 Gayleen and some of their families made it home to visit and make 18 to sit down together to eat. ,. In the LDS 4th ward, Rachel Bailey, Shawna Hatch and Barry Smith were released from the Cub Scouts. Sustained as leaders were Lesa Taylor, Teresa Birch and Jenifer Bremner. Sustained as Sunday School teachers were ! Shawna Hatch and Heather Osbonv. Joe Decker was called to be a member of the Sunday School presidency. Speakers in sacrament meeting were Linda" and "If He; Were Here." - : : : j Bob and Juanita Smith will keep medical appointments on Apr. 23 in Salt Lake City. Juanita will j have bypass surgery on April 26 for clogged blood vessels. ','t Lowell Henrie was taken to the : local hospital after pacemakeh failure. " j Native Alta Hancock Excell of Humbolt, Ariz., had a pacemaker I installed and is doing better. - ' Max Sevy tangled with a power saw and lost parts of two fingers. i Good luck, Max. Don and Lucile Bridges had heir ' -brother and sister-in-law, Riley and Bobbie Miller, and sister and brother-in-law, Virginia and Dick Gibbony, visit with them. They all , went to the country west of Milford to spend part of the week exploring the ghost towns of i Frisco and Newhouse and the 1 WahWah Valley. They then went to the Gap to see the Indian writings there. The group plans to j make it a family project this summer to visit other historical places in Utah and learn more of j the history in the state. j Steven Fischer, son of Joe and i Leniece Heywood Fischer, and Heather Hamilton of Las Vega$, Nev. were married Apr. 12 in the St. George LDS Temple. A reception recep-tion for the newlyweds will be held on May 24, Grandparents Kay and Neilene Heywood and other Heywood relatives went to St. George for the ceremony. f ' ""The" lesson infthe Daughters of the Utah Pioneers April meeting was on the history of San Juan County.
