Show Public Ready To Boycott MTV Advertisers TUPELO, MS - Backlash from the Super Bowl halftime show just keeps growing, according to a new Internet poll. Just 14 hours after it was released, website BoycottMTV.net had nearly 50,000 individuals sign up to support a boycott of MTV advertisers. "MTV is blatantly targeting our children with shows that constantly encourage a message of sexual promiscuity, dishonesty, dishon-esty, drunkenness, rudeness, rebellion, and profane language," lan-guage," said Donald E. Wildmon, chairman of American Family Association. "MTV has no socially redeeming value. Hopefully, BoycottMTV.net will allow peo (See MTV on page 4A) pie an opportunity to express their disgust. MTV would not be able to do this without the financial finan-cial support of companies such as McDonald's and Procter & Gamble," Wildmon said. He said that some companies that support MTV with advertising advertis-ing have been contacted, and that others will be contacted in the near future. The MTV halftime program has generated more than |
