''' - :,. i -ysJ r fy I Vi ' Leona Stewart Leona Stewart Celebrates 90th The family of Leona Dalley Winters Stewart celebrated her 90th birthday at a family get-together on Sunday, July 4th. She was born in Otto, Wyo., on July 11, 1909. Raised in Wyoming, Wyo-ming, she graduated from the University Uni-versity of Wyoming in 1933. She taught school in Otto and then served an LDS mission in the eastern east-ern states. Following her mission, she worked for the Farm Security Organization for one year in Duchesne and then one year in Panguitch. Pan-guitch. She worked as a secretary in the Bryce Valley School, where she was very appreciated for her organization and efficiency. She has enjoyed serving in many different differ-ent capacities in her church. Leona married Reginald Levi Stewart in Provo, on July 1, 1940. Their marriage was solemnized Dec. 3, 1940 in the St. George LDS Temple. Reg passed away in 1995. Leona is the mother of Glade R. Stewart (Karolyn) Boulder City, Nev., Max L. Stewart (Phyllis) Tropic, Duane N. Stewart (Carol) Tropic, and Leon W. Stewart (Valerie) Monroe. She has 16 grandchildren and 12 greatgrandchildren. great-grandchildren. Leona is an avid gardener and loves flowers, birds, and being outdoors. out-doors. She has always given many hours of loving service to her family, fam-ily, and is adored as "the Cookie Grandma" by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren for the hundreds of homemade cookies she has baked. |
